Autumn brings pumpkins. Check out Elli’s blog post on our recent pumpkin rage.
You know, it’s one thing about intellectuals, they prove that you can be absolutely brilliant and have no idea what’s going on.
(Woody Allen in Annie Hall)
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Because Artscroll told it to!
(quoted by Elli at tonight’s dinner table, she doesn’t remember where she picked it up, but I laughed my head off)
I’m standing at the tram station in Hürth Efferen, waiting for the train that will bring me to Cologne (typing this in Wordpress for iPhone).
Next to me stand three elderly ladies. They are discussing whether a fourth lady (called “Margarete”, I think) is only currently “going through a phase” or whether she officially has “become tired of life”. If I understand right, what makes the three fine ladies ponder this question is the unusual behavior that Margarete has been displaying lately during dinner time at a local old folks’ home.
I am writing this blog post so I can link to it as a reply to certain kinds of mails. That’s all.
Dear Reader,
thanks for your mail. As a reply, please choose whatever you think fits your scenario best:
1. Thanks for sharing your “idea”. Please tell me what problem it is that you are actually solving. Then let’s talk again.
2. Thanks for suggesting a cooperation. Please tell me why you think that we would be the best possible team in the world. And: I couldn’t care less about your business school degree. Show me what you programmed, then let’s talk.
3. No, I will not sign your NDA. Grow up already. Then, let’s talk.
Yours
D.
P.S.: There’s no punchline here. I know. But that’s okay.
Scott at Webmonkey writes about web approaches that work for mobile and those that don’t. While his article is right on the money (read it), it isn’t his fault that his publisher is, well “wired”–as opposed to “mobile” or “wireless”. Below the article it says:
“This article can be optimized for your mobile phone using Google’s mobile parser.”
And when you click on the link, you first have to log into Google Reader.
Ahem, Condé Nast, can’t you afford a set of iPhone/Mobile Device-optimized templates for your “Web Developer’s Resource”-CMS?
